What to Expect in the Sky: A Review of Singapore Airlines Inflight Amenities and Services
Singapore Airlines has long been renowned for its comfortable cabin, award-winning service, and delicious in-flight dining options. However, it’s also known for something else: the wide variety of in-flight amenities that are available to passengers during every Singapore Airlines Flight. From spa-like amenities to entertainment options galore to complimentary food and beverages, every moment spent on a Singapore Airlines Flight Booking could very well be described as pure luxury. Learn more about what you can expect when you fly with this review of the airline in-flight amenities and services.
The Comfort Bundle
Singapore Airlines offers two different comfort bundles depending on your needs. The Comfort Bundle is essentially a pillow, blanket, eye mask, headrest and earplugs. If you don’t need all of those things, but just want a little bit more comfort than average (maybe some extra space), you can go with their Premium Comfort Seat Bundle . It has everything that comes with Comfort Bundle except for the blanket and pillow; if you bring your own though, they’ll let you use them without any hassle. I picked up an awesome comfy blanket for less than $10 at Marshalls so I got all set for my trip!
Sesame and Chili Crackers
Our verdict on Singapore Airlines Flight Booking sesame crackers is that they taste as good as they look. I’ve never tried anything like them before, so their light but crispy texture was a very pleasant surprise. They’re a nice balance between savory and sweet, almost like a salty dessert. And who knew flying could be so sweet? (Well, maybe not literally, but still.) Because these crackers are small, I advise nibbling on two or three at a time instead of stuffing your face with them—you wouldn’t want to run out! We certainly didn’t. As for those chili crackers…well…they were spicy—really spicy!
The Hot Towel Service
This amenity is available on all Singapore Airline Flights, although you’ll only receive one per flight, unless otherwise specified. As its name suggests, a towel attendant will provide you with a hot towel after take-off before your meal service has begun. The towels are applied by hand to ensure that they are warm when given over. If there’s someone travelling on board who wants a second (or third!) hot towel later on in their flight experience, no worries – just let an Inflight Service Crew member know! I highly recommend taking advantage of this amenity; it feels so good after being up for several hours straight at 40,000 feet in a busy environment. I always find myself wiping my face with my first hot towel and enjoying every moment!
The Padded Blanket
Singapore Airlines Economy Class travelers know that once you board a plane, you’re likely not going to have a whole lot of room—especially if you’re on a smaller domestic Singapore Airlines Flight. But Singapore Airlines takes it even further by providing its Economy passengers with nothing more than a thin, flimsy blanket as an airplane blanket. The only option? Purchase one or two plush blankets for $20 before boarding.
Airborne
No matter what time it is, or what time Singapore Airlines Flight takes off, passengers on Singapore Airlines are treated to a full, hot meal. The menu features several international dishes like cold smoked salmon, roast duck with mango salsa, spaghetti Bolognese with fettuccine noodles and lamb shank with couscous. Even if you have dietary restrictions, Singapore Air makes sure everyone has something that tastes great. If you’re watching your sugar intake but would still like dessert for breakfast (we don’t recommend eating dessert for breakfast—it sounds terrible), Singapore offers some health-conscious desserts including blueberry cheesecake without any crust or caramel apple tartlets made without butter.
Air Locks
Many travelers think they need an extra pair of shoes to keep their feet fresh during long flights, but Singapore Airlines Flight Booking has a much better solution. Their Airbus A380s have a set of special air locks that allow passengers to take regular breaks from their stinky shoes. First, you remove your shoes by tapping on a small screen at your seat; then you step into a private enclosed area that looks like a futuristic shower stall. The door closes behind you and there’s even music! After five minutes or so, you push another button for air locks to open back up; now your new-and-smell-free feet are ready for some serious walking around.
LED Glow Sticks
Using LED glow sticks can be a fun, unique way to make use of Singapore Airlines Flight time. Passengers are encouraged to use them during Movie Under The Stars screenings on Singapore Airlines Airbus 380 aircraft. For passengers traveling by night, LED light sticks are a great way to encourage people sitting near you to strike up conversation. One thing’s for sure, you won’t forget where your seat is in an otherwise pitch-black cabin. My personal favorite use of a glow stick during flight has been hanging one from my overhead bin as I sleep—it makes it look like there’s a party happening nearby even if my neighbor is not yet drunk enough for conversation!
Clean Air
Anybody who has flown a commercial airplane knows that it can be dirty. Studies have shown that flying exposes passengers to higher levels of air contaminants than just about any other activity besides working as a coal miner or burning trash. To help mitigate these risks, Singapore Airlines uses high-tech filters for its air conditioning units. This is especially important on long-haul flights, which are longer and experience more time spent with engines turned off at cruising altitude. By filtering out pollutants from your cabin’s recirculated air, Singapore Airlines aims to make all their flights a safe one!
Great Service From Flight Attendants (FA’s)
FAs wear multicolored uniforms, so you can spot them easily. The uniform tops are cut short above their midriffs, making it easy for them to serve your needs while serving food or clearing trash. On their left sleeve, they have a Singapore Airlines pin along with their name tag, making it easier for you to know who is helping you at any given time. FAs work both on international flights (when flying long-haul) and regional ones. For regional flights, most FA’s will be from that country and may even speak your language!
